Fudgy Brownies with Blood Orange Glaze

These brownies are so moist and fudgy. The bright citrus flavor from the blood orange glaze is the perfect addition to these chocolaty brownies!

Ingredients

Blood Orange Glaze

  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar sifted
  • zest of half a blood orange
  • 3-4 tablespoon fresh blood orange juice use more or less depending on desired consistency

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350° F. Line an 9x9 baking dish with parchment paper.
  • Pour melted butter into a large mixing bowl. Whisk in sugar until smooth
  • Add in eggs and vanilla extract.
  • Whisk in melted chocolate until combined and smooth.
  • Stir in flour, cocoa powder, and salt with rubber spatula until just combined. Stir in whole chocolate chips.
  • Pour into prepared pan and smooth out.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Let cool in pan for at least 30 minutes. Drizzle blood orange glaze over top with spoon. Enjoy!

Blood Orange Glaze

  • Whisk together powdered sugar, orange zest, salt and 3 tablespoons of blood orange juice.
  • Adjust thickness by adding additional orange juice, 1 teaspoon at a time.

Notes

If you cannot find blood oranges, you can use regular oranges as well.
