- Chicken. We use boneless, skinless chicken breasts for this recipe but chicken thighs also work great.

How To Make This Recipe
Step 1. Wash, trim, and slice chicken into 1 ½-inch chunks. Transfer the chicken to a bowl, season, and stir the chicken to coat.
Step 2. Thread 5-6 pieces of chicken on metal skewers. Repeat 6 times with 6 separate skewers and set aside.
Step 3. Place all ingredients for the guava BBQ in a medium saucepan and heat over medium high until boiling. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10-15 minutes until thick and smooth.
Step 4. Coat all sides of the chicken skewers in sauce and place them on a hot grill pan coated in oil. Place the chicken in the oven on the lowest rack and cook for 8 minutes. Carefully flip the skewers and cook for another 6-10 minutes until cooked through.

Guava BBQ Chicken Skewers

- 1 teaspoon garlic powder

- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Guava BBQ Sauce
- 8 ounces guava paste - cubed
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons fresh minced ginger
- 1 garlic clove - minced
- 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Salt and freshly ground pepper - to taste
Instructions

- Preheat your oven to 475°F. Coat a cast iron grill pan with oil then place it in the oven for 10 minutes.
- Coat all sides of each chicken skewer in sauce with a sauce brush and carefully place them on the hot grill pan.
- Place the chicken in the oven on the lowest rack and cook for 8 minutes. Carefully flip the skewers and cook for another 6-10 minutes until cooked through.
