Important Ingredient Notes
The detailed ingredient list with measurements is in the recipe card at the bottom of this post.
- Apple. I love Honeycrisp apples for this recipe because they are the perfect combination of sweet and tart. Chop your apple into chunks in preparation. There is no need to peel the apple.
- Brown Sugar. Dark brown sugar gives this simple syrup a rich, caramel-like sweetness. Pack the brown sugar into the measuring cup. If you love brown sugar, you don't want to miss our brown sugar glaze recipe!
- Spices. My favorites are cinnamon sticks, whole cloves, and nutmeg but feel free to use your favorite fall spices. These chewy chai cookies are packed with warm fall spices!
