Ingredients You Will Need
- Sugar. You will combine regular, granulated sugar with water to create the simple syrup for the lemonade. You may also use a combination of brown and granulated sugar. See how I use this combination in my peach sweet tea.
- Lemon juice. We use freshly squeezed lemon juice from about 6 to 7 lemons for this recipe. I have not tested this recipe with bottled lemon juice. Freshly squeezed lemon juice is also a star in our moist lemon bundt cake.
- Pineapple juice. Be sure to use 100% pineapple juice for this recipe.
- Spicy pepper blend. A combination of smoked paprika, ancho chili powder, and cayenne pepper creates our spicy pepper blend for this recipe.
How To Make This Recipe
- Heat the granulated sugar and water on the stovetop in a medium saucepan until the sugar dissolves then cool.
- Combine the lemon juice, cooled simple syrup, and 3 cups of pineapple juice in a large glass pitcher.
- Place the remaining 1 cup of pineapple juice and the spicy pepper blend in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well then pour into the pitcher.
- Add the cold water and give the lemonade a good stir. Serve in glasses over ice.
💡 Expert Tip! Be sure to give your pitcher of lemonade a good stir before serving if it has been sitting for a while. The pepper blend settles on the bottom as it sits.
