A refreshing, zingy Moscow mule mocktail made with ginger beer and fresh lime. This easy-to-make non-alcoholic drink is light and super delicious.
I just celebrated 3 years of sobriety and I get so much enjoyment from creating and sipping on a tasty mocktail. This ginger beer and lime mocktail is one of my favorites and has the most delicious spicy, bright flavor.

Ingredients You Need To Make This Recipe
- Ginger beer. Good ginger beer really makes this mocktail shine. See below for some of my recommendations.
- Freshly squeezed lime juice. The citrusy, tart lime flavor pairs amazingly well with the spice and sweetness of the ginger beer.
- Seedlip Spice 94 non-alcoholic spirit. This is an optional ingredient but I strongly recommend giving it a try in this virgin Moscow mule. This ingredient adds subtle spiced flavor notes like clove and cinnamon which make this drink even more delicious.
- Club soda or sparkling water. Feel free to use plain club soda or your favorite flavored sparkling water. I love to use lime-flavored sparkling water!
- Fresh mint leaves and lime wedges. For garnish - gotta make it pretty!

What Is The Best Ginger Beer for a Moscow Mule?
Different brands of ginger beer can vary greatly in flavor. Some have a pungent ginger flavor that is overly spicy and some are mostly sugar with a faint ginger flavor.
I have tried several different brands of ginger beer to find the perfect choices for my virgin Moscow mule. These are my favorite brands that I think have the perfect balance of spice and sweetness:
- Fever Tree Ginger Beer
- Reed's Ginger Beer
- Barritt's Ginger Beer
- Cock 'n Bull Ginger Beer
- Gosling's Ginger Beer
What Are Some Other Non-Alcoholic Vodka Alternatives?
There are so many really good non-alcoholic spirits on the market these days and they have really transformed mocktails into complex, craft beverages.
However, it is extremely hard to find a non-alcoholic vodka "replacement" because when you take away the alcohol, you're essentially left with water. So, you're not looking to replace the vodka but instead, add some sort of herbal, grassy, floral, citrusy, or spicy flavors.
Here of some of my recent non-alcoholic spirit discoveries that do just that:
- Seedlip Grove 42
- Seedlip Garden 108
- Strykk Not V*dka
- Wilderton Non-Alcoholic Botanical Spirit
- AMASS Riverine Distilled Non-Alcoholic Spirit
